Derby and Europe

Derby is a European city. It has many links with Europe, economic, cultural and personal, and some of these go back decades, or even centuries. At present we have a formal link through the twinning arrangment between the City of Derby, and the City of Osnabruck in Germany. If you click on the Derby City twinning office here their webpage will tell you more about that link. And you can go directly to Osnabruck City’s website here. Their website will translate into English if you go to the web address in the browser window and follow across rightward, where you will find three icons. The middle one is for translation

Other towns in Derbyshire also have twins in Europe. Matlock is twinned with Eaubonne in France, while Buxton is twinned with Bad Nauheim in Germany, and Oignies in France. Chesterfield is twinned with Troyes in France and Darmstadt in Germany. Click on the cities to access websites giving more information on all those links.
